Tahini Sauce


  • 1/2 cup tahini
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt



  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the tahini, lemon juice, water, garlic, and salt until smooth.
  2. If the sauce is too thick, add a little more water until it reaches your desired consistency.
  3. Taste and adjust the seasoning as needed.


You can serve this sauce with a variety of dishes, such as falafel, grilled vegetables, or as a topping for shawarma or gyros. It can also be used as a salad dressing or a dip for vegetables or pita chips.


This tahini sauce keeps well in the refrigerator, covered, for about 1 week. The tahini may thicken with time; whisk in additional cold water as necessary to thin.
